The Best Breakfast is One with Lots of Cereal?
October 14, 2008 · 27 Comments
I got word from my buddy Brad Pilon (author of the popular Eat Stop Eat intermittent fasting ebook) that he was going to be on some morning show taped in NY. So I was excited that perhaps maybe the intermittent fasting message was getting some main stream attention finally. Then I saw the clip online of himself and a person who lost 60+lbs, and on the other side was a “Dr” and “Nutritionist”. That’s when the “Uh-Oh”... (read full article)
Are Diet Sodas Making You Gain Weight?
October 6, 2008 · 33 Comments
This is based on this week’s video about a study about diet sodas and weight loss. (if you can not see the video here, you can go to the main page and see it there as well) Many may say that weight gain is caused because of increased cravings and the sugar response of the brain from the artificial sweeteners (which may or may not be true). But if you start to see that weight gain around the face and center of the body (stomach especially) then... (read full article)
Is Your Exercise Keeping You Fat?
October 2, 2008 · 32 Comments
One of the things I covered in my biggest workout mistakes post is the fact that many people work out way too much. What I mean by this is when you do activities for the sake of a goal (say losing fat), and you think more is better…..well you can actually be doing more harm than good. I have consulted with so many people who are not getting results just based on their level of exercise activity is too much for them. Once they finally get that... (read full article)

Jack LaLanne Speaks…We Should Listen
September 24, 2008 · 16 Comments
I think most of us have heard of Jack LaLanee before, he is amazing. As he turns the ripe young age of 94 tomorrow, he is still active, working out, swimming and mentally sharp as a tack (which is rare nowadays with the aging population). It’s amazing to see someone not only that old, although he may not like being called old so I’ll say “aged” instead, but more importantly functional, strong and smart as ever. Jack has... The New IF Life Site Layout - How to Use it
September 21, 2008 · 10 Comments
OK well it’s official, the new design and layout is now up (and let me tell you, there were plenty of bugs and still much to do). But at least you can now navigate, search, and review all the posts by catagory with much ease. Also there is added video and other features coming. Overall I am trying to make it more of what you the reader wants in a website. The new site is geared for: Easier navigation to read current and review old posts Mini... (read full article)
Whole New Look and Site is coming.
September 18, 2008 · 7 Comments
Hey everyone. Just a quick note that I am planning a big big upgrade of the site (believe me…it’s big and taking me alot of programming to do). It will happen over the weekend (as that is usually when traffic is lower) and will probably be a continual work in progress. Just wanted to give you a heads up if the site starts acting weird over the weekend and plan on seeing a whole NEW and IMPROVED IF Life next week. It will be an easier place... (read full article)
Outrage at HFCS Commericals
September 12, 2008 · 19 Comments
Here’s a quick post for everyone as I feel it is important that we all need some awareness of a recent marketing trend of the High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) industry, and then some humor to recover and brighten our day and weekend. This is the Yin-Yang of posts. The Yin (night) Part - High Fructose Corn Syrup I will start with something I saw on TV this week and has been all the “rage” (not the good kind) among health/fitness bloggers... (read full article)
Diet Book Insanity. Why is Eating So Complicated?
September 9, 2008 · 12 Comments
How many diet books do you think are out there? Take some time one day to walk around your local bookstore and go into the health/diet/fitness section. I do this every couple months just to see what the heck people are trying to sell off nowadays as the “latest and greatest” diet to ever come along. If information really equaled results, holy cow we should be the fittest and healthiest generation in the course of known human history!... (read full article)

September 5, 2008 · 25 Comments
Low carb diets. Slow carb diets. No carb diets. What really works for weight/fat loss? Well, most all do to some degree depending on many factors. Unfortunately with the mountain of diet books out there and all their claims one can get easily confused and lose focus of the big picture. So first we need to understand the role of carbs and how they effect the fat loss equation. With that knowledge we can put an end to all this carb confusion and diet... (read full article)
